Pork tenderloin question?
If a recipe calls for 1 lb pork tenderloin baked 450 degrees for 23 min, how long would you bake a 2 lb pork tenderloin at 400 degrees?
(The pan I’m using says oven safe up to 400 degrees)
Hmmm, 450 degrees F sounds too high of a temperature. But at 23 minutes, you’ll have a rare tenderloin.
USDA regulations are tighter so there is less chance of getting a foodborn illness from pork these days but you may want to try cooking it this way instead just to be safe:
Sear the loin on all sides in a pan with a few tablespoons of oil on meduim-high to high heat. Place in an oven at 350 degress F for about 45 minutes. Optimal doneness is when the internal temperature in the thickest part registers 145 degrees.
