As the owner of cookbooks a whole lot, sometimes I have to explain my theory of cookbooks for my husband. In the case of "Barefoot Contessa at Home", the recipe for easy Danish cheese is a perfect example. This recipe uses six ingredients condiments. You can do the night before you need it. Both of which translate to make my life easy. And it can be enjoyed by our family and holiday guests for years to come. If you look at the cost of the book in terms of number of times we to use only a recipe, you'll see what a great value it really is.

And of course there are many more recipes included that make it even better. Most recipes are creative version of the standard fare, like a cabbage salad that uses blue cheese or jalapeno cheddar corn bread or salad Veronique chicken. The book includes chapters on soup and sandwiches, salads, dinner, vegetables, desserts, breakfast, and others.

And I like that Ms. Garten includes a recipe for "Chicken with goat cheese and basil, which can be prepared in 10 minutes when, as she puts it" I'm too tired to cook. " I LOVE recipes as well.

And what about the "frozen berries with hot white chocolate? Looking forward to try that.

I cook for Ina. Before finding her first cookbook, cooking infrequently. I knew the basics, but I had no simple recipes, great-tasting enjoyed doing regularly. Ina has changed my life with his books, and my friends and family will thank you for it!

I am one of those people who need to have a picture of finished product, and Ina offers beautiful images, encourages you to give the recipe a try. Her recipes are easy and each one was a tasty success, I slowly devoured my way through his books.

I am delighted with this new, and only on the first pass through it, I found 14 recipes that I would try immediately!

I'm a little surprised at the comments made by one of the other reviewers, (which is why I'm writing my first Amazon review.) Had trouble with liberal use of Ina butter and salt, the cost of the book, its accreditation recipes to others, Ina suggestions for shopping, etc. How funny!

Part of the charm of Ina and fabulous food test results of the abundant quantities of butter and salt. If you have a problem with it, probably should not make these recipes. (She has a lot of recipes with no butter in them, but are not as tasty!)
