Where can I find good recipes for dogs?

I read in a book that you can cook food for your dog like you cook food for yourself. Any suggestions?
Um, to clarify, I’m looking for recipes to *feed* to dogs:-P

I have the book “The Veterinarian’s Guide to Natural Remedies for Dogs” and there are a few recipes available. This book was written based on the opinions of several vets. They say that making your own dog food is less expensive, but I have found it really is not. But the plus side to making food for your dog is that you know what goes into it and that hopefully you will use natural and whole foods.

A good rule of thumb that I have followed from the book is, that 50% of their diet should be from cooked whole grains (such as brown rice and oatmeal). You can use bulger wheat as well, but please know for sure that your dog is not allergic to wheat.

Up to a quarter or third should be high-quality proteins, namely real meat (chicken, turkey, lamb, and some fishes), and some of it raw if your animal will eat it. Also, know if your dog is allergic or cannot properly digest the protein. I have a collie and she ends up having really soft stools after eating any type of fish. Beef and Pork are really not recommended.

Up to a quarter with vegetables or fruits (lightly steam or grate the veggies). Green Beans, Carrots, blueberries, cranberries, pumpkin, bananas…

Also give your dog a daily vitamin/mineral supplement to ensure all proper nutrition, as most commercial dog foods have these added in their food. And also include an essential fatty acid (omega 3) supplement. Fish oil or Flax seed oil is good.
