The world famous chocolate chip cookie recipe
This will drool even the cookies hater!
There is nothing more popular than a really good Chocolate Chip Cookie.The food is considered a true American comfort food. What’s needed is a really good cookie recipe. This one you’ll appreciate.
One of my favorite things to do is make cookies and give them as gifts. I give cookies for almost any occasion.
This recipe is very old. It was given to me when I started my restaurant and it has been a good one every since.Grandma raised four boys with these cookies!
It is now a real restaurant recipe and no longer a secret restaurant recipe.
Preparation time: 15 minutes.Makes 3 – 4 dozen cookies, depending on size
Ingredients:
1 cup of shortening
1 cup of sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups shifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups rolled or quick oats
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
Cream shortening, sugar and brown sugar
Add eggs and vanillaSift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture
Add oats, chocolate chips and nuts (if using)
Spoon or scoop onto greased cookie pans or line your pan with parchment paper (use a teaspoon for smaller cookies)
Bake in a 350 degree F oven until edges are brown (12 -15 minutes)
Let settle and then remove from cookie sheet to wire rack to coolThere you have it.
