Anybody have the recipe for “chocolate-dipped mushrooms” from a book titled The Cookie Book?

They were meringue cookies shaped like mushrooms and stuck together with melted chocolate. I found a recipe for them online, but being the purist I am, I wondered whether anyone had the Cookie Book recipe on hand. It was a small white book with I think chocolate-chip cookies on the cover.

I have the same recipe in one of my great grand mothers old cookbooks.

you will need:

3 large egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. sugar

beat egg whites and cream of tartar in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until foamy. Beat in sugar 1 tablespoon at a time and continue beating until stiff and glossy. Do not overbeat. Pipe your stems and caps onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 275 degrees until light golden brown. allow to cool and assemble with chocolate as glue.
